Kristin Patterson most recently sang as a soloist in the European premier of Bill Doherty´s Requiem. Her most recent opera roles include Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro with the Berlin Opera Group and Herodias in Salome with Sakral Oper in Berlin and has been described by critics as a singer with “rich contralto singing”, “charismatic presence”, “brilliant portrayal” and a “startlingly rich mezzo”. Recent highlights include a world premier tour of Bill Doherty's Requiem and a recurring position with Nevada Opera as well as a Vatican City concert tour where she sang as a soloist in Mozart's Vesperae Solennes for Pope Benedict XVI. She also performed the role of Ruby in Christian McCleer's premeire work by that name on RTB Theater TV, Brooklyn, NY. In 2011 Ms. Patterson made her Carnegie Hall debut where she was hailed as a “powerful alto”.

 

Rave reviews were extended for her Ulrica in Un Ballo In Maschera at Opera In the Heights. Another career highlight was her debut as Florence Pike in Albert Herring, in Chateauville, Va. Conducted and produced by Maestro Lorin Maazel with the London Royal Academy of Music, it was a huge success and Ms. Patterson was selected to recap her performance at Chateauville and again in Berkeley, CA. In addition, as a Resident and then Guest Artist with the Central Florida Lyric Opera in Orlando, Fl., she performed in over 50 productions most recently singing the title role of Carmen and Suzuki in Madama Butterfly.
 

Earlier in her career, Ms. Patterson was honored to be chosen as an Apprentice Artist with Des Moines Metro Opera and debuted in the leading role as Miss Baggott in The Little Sweep by Benjamin Britten. In 2007 Ms. Patterson toured Italy in a concert production by Il Sempre Magico Baule. Her performances were so successful that she was called back to perform the Pergolesi Stabat Mater with the company which garnered the highest critical acclaim and played to sold out audiences. She then returned for a summer 2008 concert tour with La Scala artist Andrea Elena and continues to collaborate with his productions worldwide.
